Jamie Lawson

Jamie Lawson (*1975) played the London circuit for a long time, recording his music on demo cassettes and eventually releasing his first two albums. Having landed a surprise hit in Ireland (“Wasn’t Expecting That”), things really took off when Ed Sheeran signed him to his newly founded Gingerbread Man Records and the resulting album reached number 1 on the UK Albums Chart in 2015. These promo photos were taken 17 years prior to international fame, in and around the (long gone) original 12Bar club on Denmark Street, as well as The Kashmir Klub, a wonderful basement venue in Central London that was initiated by former Iron Maiden keyboard player Tony Moore. It closed down in 2003.
